After the January feast of "Lailonia", the second encounter with the Kana Theatre will be a story about the quest for the language, the form, the subject, and the way of existence of the theatre. It will be a story about the moment when there were more asked and unanswered questions than ready solutions. It will also be a story about the courage to open up to an experiment, to the new and the unknown, to a different type of work, to seeking an actor, a text, and a role in ourselves, to trust in history, to decisions about a new way the theatre and the team should function. "The Unspoken" was a stage on the path, an important encounter with ourselves, for each of us, a process of getting to know ourselves again. We would like to invite you to meet with this time, this “voice of Kana”, which was very important for determining our further choices.
This time (throughout 2019) within the framework of OKNO we will share with you our own experience – the experience of the team, which sets directions, themes, areas and formsn appearing on the stage of the Kana Theatre. Most of them the audience know from individual events, yet none of them is accidental: they are part of the larger entity and a part of the path we walk together. Our present identity – everything we do at the moment – is the resultant of who we are, what we are seek, what questions we ask ourselves. It is also part of the process that we have trusted that it is becoming. For many years we have learned from the guests of OKNO – we invited those who were interesting to us, who showed us the multiplicity of paths. Now we feel that it is worth checking what happened to us all (in all of us) over the years. This year’s OKNO will therefore be devoted to Voices of the Kana. We will learn from each other.
