As a part of project “Wokół Tradycji” in Kashubia there will be a field meeting dedicated to Marian songs. Time, space and topics of the meetings will be directly connected with the tradition of May services which are still one of the most beautiful forms of Folk devotion that is still actively practiced in Kashubian villages. This custom dates back 150 years ago when villagers gathered before the Virgin Mary figure covered in flowers. They meet everyday in May integrating local communities.
As part of a several-day trip, a group of musicians from Poznań, Szczecin and Kashubia will work together on old songs that are rarely celebrated nowadays.
