"StOïk"
Les GüMs
(France)

performance all audience (5 +) / 28.06 (Saturday) 20:30 (50 min) / Pleciuga Puppet Theatre

A performance based on minimalist surrealist humor, built around the relationship between a man and a woman. He is very tall and thin, while she is short, small, and energetic. Using elements of circus, acrobatics, singing, movement, and physical actions, using props and objects in a subversive and funny way, they create a series of funny etudes that make up a moving story about the closeness of differences. A simple, light, and comic universe. Les GüMs was founded in 2014 by Clémence Rouzier and Brian Henninot. The performance of StOïk has been performed over 350 times worldwide, and is currently being continued with Victor Hollebecq and Clémence Rouzier or Dominique Joannon.

They’re here.
Mister et Madam Nobody, with nothing. A simple scenic design.
They always make their best, to fail, better.
The greatness of everything to point out the smallness of nothing.
He’s tall, half way between Peter Crouch and M. Bean, with good intentions.
She’s small, full of energy and bitterness, but all of this is above her.
They’re close with each other and with the audience.
An absurd gestual world: nothing’s there, nothing IS there, everything’s there.

Viewers of different ages and abilities can experience the show in their own way. The Art of the Body Theatre combines elements of pantomime, physical theatre, and interactive play. Using visual and movement signs, it addresses topics related to psychology, ecology, and nature. After the show (20') the actresses will lead games and animations with children.

"SPINSANE"
RACE HORSE COMPANY
(FINLAND)
performance 8 + / 29.06 (Sunday)
15:30 (50 min) / Pl. Solidarności

The outdoor performance "Spinsane", taking place on a huge rotating structure ("wheel of death") touches on the topic of the "rat race" in an unconventional, interactive, humorous way - it evokes a metaphor of the eternal, aimless and senseless race that we undertake in life, as societies, and as individuals. At the same time, using high-altitude acrobatics and elements of cabaret and stand-up, the artists draw the audience into a subversive game in which anyone can be chosen for the Great Trial... The Race Horse group was founded in 2008, and its mission was to create an uncompromising and unique circus theater "without limits". Their performances are based on extraordinary acrobatic skills, aesthetics of chaos, dark humor, and surprise. Balancing real danger with comedic relief, Race Horse creates extremely physical acrobatic shows, which have had a significant impact on the understanding of a new circus in contemporary Finnish art.

Little spectators and their guardians will hear stories, tales, songs, and counting rhymes told for centuries – so that everyone can live better on Earth, with the world and with each other. "GREGARIOUS"
SOON CIRCUS COMPANY
(SWEDEN/CATALONIA)
performance 10+ – 29.06 (Sunday)
19:00 (45 min) / Żeromski Park Stage

The performance takes up the subject of rivalry and relationships in a funny, subversive and original way, building the plot around the theme of sports. On the one hand, it is attractive and full of dynamics (breathtaking acrobatics, technically demanding choreographies), and on the other hand, it is based on a minimalist, brilliant sense of humor, improvised dialogues, and credible emotions. Drawing inspiration from their own close friendship, the two artists created a "modern circus gem" that emanates energy, wit, and charm, while at the same time offering a fresh perspective on the emotional and personal dynamics that underlie sport. Soon Circus Company was created by two graduates of the Circus University in Stockholm: Nilas Kronlid and Manel Rosés. This is their first production, shown so far over 150 times in 15 countries.

“SMASHED”
GANDINI JUGGLING
(GREAT BRITAIN)
performance 10 + / 29.06 (Sunday) 20:30 (60 min) / Contemporary Theatre

“SMASHED” is a stage composition featuring nine actors, 100 red apples, and a soundtrack of popular songs from Tammy Wynette to Music Hall and Bach. A series of nostalgic film scenes depict conflicts, strained relationships, lost love, and afternoon tea. Inspired by the work of the great choreographer Pina Bausch, director Sean Gandini, and Kati Ylä-Hokkala they borrowed elements of her gestural choreography and combined them with intricate patterns and cascades of solo and group juggling.

This playful, imaginative, and characterful work resembles dance theatre and challenges stereotypical perceptions of contemporary juggling. “Here juggling becomes flights of inspired poetry, musical choreography with strong dance elements, the surrealism of mad comedy, the breathtaking skillful virtuosity, the drama of dark absurdity. Gandini opens windows in the mind.” (New York Times and Chief Dance Critic Alastair MaCualay).

Gandini is the most important and experienced new circus theatre company in Britain. They have performed over 6,000 times in 50 countries. They present their shows at the most prestigious festivals and venues. Their work is influenced by many disciplines and artists: composers, ballet choreographers, fashion designers, computer programmers, sound designers, set designers, and mathematicians. The group currently consists of 20 artists, focusing on exploring the boundaries of contemporary juggling, experimenting with movement, form, object, and scale. They also deal with theatre pedagogy.
