The project, co-financed by the Association of Polish Stage Artists  ZASP- Cultural Fund, assumes the recording and digital publication of the third original album of the Szczecin band BIBIKINGS.

 

Currently, the band works as a duo consisting of: Kana Theater actress, Bibianna Chimiak, and guitarist, Konrad Cwajda.

 

The strength of the duo is their unbridled passion for searching for non-obvious sounds, minimalism of means and timbre of words.

 

The title of the album refers to a thimble used for sewing because, like it, these songs are supposed to protect against pain. The lyrics of the songs focus on the hardships of everyday life, the monotony of life and its overwhelming rush. They talk about the burden that reality can bring, about attempts to escape from reality into sleep. They touch on various emotions and talk about sadness, fear, longing, lack, loss and loneliness. Many threads are taken from the author's personal experiences. It is a thorough analysis of internal states and observations of the surrounding world, conveyed in a symbolic and poetic way. Some of the texts refer to social topics, the role of women in the modern world, interpersonal communication, callousness, consumerism and blindness - this is a reflective attempt to draw attention to these problems. The songs provoke reflection on oneself, on the near and distant reality, and they also speak out about the future. And although it is difficult to find hope in them, they bring comfort because of the warmth that emanates from them and the closeness of topics that touch each of us.
