Social arts are second-cycle practical studies at the Institute of Polish Culture at the University of Warsaw. Their program is based on a vision of “education in action”. They teach creating open and socialized projects in culture. They prepare students for work in schools, non-governmental organizations, as well as in independent social and artistic projects.
University program involves, among others, exercises providing tools to a critical thinking, such as applied cultural anthropology, ideas of social engagement, contexts of participatory art, as well as creative workshops developing the ability to use specific methods, including: diagnosis of needs, community work, creative activities, e.g. using photography, performance or film, planning and financing of the project.
The tour in Szczecin on March 14-17 also includes, among others, meetings with Oswajanie Miasta Association, Szczecin Art Academy: Social Film Studio, the Contemporary Theater and Lokatorne.
