THE SEVENTH DAY
Feast of the Street for families and neighbours
And finally – the seventh day (June 29), the day of the Street’s Birthday, integration, family meeting, a neighbourhood gathering, a friendly feast full of music, dance, theatre, co-created by many hosts of the Sts. Peter and Paul Square. The day of return to what the common issues. The day of return to the idea of the first edition of the festival: The Busker Internationale.
Punto y Coma
Punto y Coma are not.
Their world does not exist.
If you can see them you are a privileged person.
In their fantastic world the objects are alive, movement talks and the words fly away. They coexist into a forgotten space lost in time, in a strange place where images dance and fragility tremble… It is a unique space, a book´s garden inhabited by strange beings and reinvented objects, a magical and surprising place, disturbingly familiar.
They are complicatedly simple, emotionally logical and nostalgically funny. In their poetic world things are not what they seem, Punto y Coma either. Their reality may seem confuse, their actions reckless, their appearance intimidating… but don´t be afraid they are completely harmless. This eccentric couple makes the absurdity vital and transforms the mundane situations into an experience of extraordinary dimensions.
Punto y Coma is a contemporary scenic proposal that explores the boundaries of Circus-Theatre. Taking its inspiration from Expressionism and theatre of the absurd, explores the concepts of “culture” and “knowledge” exploring the poetic and expressive possibilities of contemporary circus and physical theatre. El Cruce develops an original language to transmit ideas and emotions in a funny, risky and terrifyingly absurd way, sharing an unique live experience with the audience.

Cia EL CRUCE
The contemporary circus company El Cruce is created from the encounter between Nicoletta Battaglia and Ruben Río. They founded a common interest in the research and development of contemporary stage practices, using circus and physical theatre as their main ways of expression.Cia El Cruce explores the boundaries of physical and gestual expression through a mixture of contemporary circus techniques, live music and physical theatre. The company plays by means of image an action, developing an unique poetry filled by suggestions and symbolism, playing subtlety the tensions of fragility and the mystery of fears, desires and relationships, sticking out a personal interpretation of the serious comedy of absurd. El Cruce makes the ordinary become extraordinary and transforms inner feelings into expressive movements, with the intention to communicate through simplicity and amusement.
Why El Cruce? (The Spanish word “Cruce” has different interpretations “cross, junction, intersection, interchange natural mixture”). It is in the Cruce where there are new possibilities, it is a place to reflect about the walked path, a place where the doubt appears, a place of curiosity, a new point for choosing the future. El Cruce because we believe diversity means richness, in cultures, in thought, in arts and expression. It is a point where the opposites meet, a place for balance. Cruce generates a new kind that takes the best of both parts, it is cooperation, surprise, evolution. El Cruce is a point that offers new directions, it presents a pause to feel and think back, it is the end of a road and the beginning of a new one.
Both Nicoletta Battaglia and Rubén Río were members of the artistic association La Hoja Roja (2009) where they initiate their collaboration in artistic projects. With Rubén as the artistic director, they developed together more than a ten different shows exploring various formats and genres. From 2012 Rubén moves to Barcelona. They both make their own Projects and also collaborate with other circus and theatre companies. In 2014 the meet again and formed “El Cruce” continuing the development of their artistic relationship. They created their first show “Errantes” exploring an existentialist metaphor of personal strengths and weaknesses. In May 2015/16 they develop their second show “Punto y Coma”. And expressionistic universe that melts the absurdity and fantasy in a terrific ridiculous show. In June 2016 the show won the first prize of the festival CIRCADA Off UNIA. At the moment the show is performing in different street festivals (Circada Sevilla , International Mime festival Chuncheon Korea , FEX Granada, Carnaval Sztukmistrzów Lublin, Poland), buskers festivals (Pflasterspektakel Linz Austria, Aufgetischt St.Gallen, Switzerland, Fes+Chapeu Sant Pere de Ribes , Catalonia) and theatre festivals (Ateneu Popular de 9 barris Barcelona, teatro Canovas Malaga, Centro Cultural Caldas de Rainha Portuga)
